Sarah Dunning, Chief Executive, Westmorland
Sarah Dunning is Chief Executive of Wesmtorland Limited and, as such, is in charge of Britain’s only family run motorway services at Tebay. Sarah’s company differentiates itself from the competition by emphasising its strong Cumbrian connections which shows through in the quality of produce sold at Tebay, its partnership with their family farm and in their award-winning farm shops at Tebay and Rheged. From a company started in 1971 by a local farmer and a local baker, the business has grown into a diverse operation that now employs over 500 people. Sarah was appointed Chief Executive in 2005 and named ‘Cumbria Young Director of the Year 2006’ by the Institute of Directors.

Edwin Booth, Chairman, Booths
Edwin Booth is the fifth generation in a line of Booths’ to control this family chain. There are 26 stores located in market towns and semi rural areas across the north of England. The company is well known for engaging with local food producers, its regional sourcing and servicing the needs of customers. It is these winning attributes that has seen sales increase over the past five years, despite intense competition from a handful of major supermarkets. The company employs almost 3000 staff who help to generate turnover of over £230 million.
