Furness Enterprise welcomes Enterprising Places to Barrow

Enterprising Places is a network of councilors, council officers, business leaders, and other community stakeholders, all of whom share one common aim: to develop a positive culture for entrepreneurial activity across the country.

As well as coordianting the Enterprising Britain Awards – which aim to celebrate the most enterprising places in Britain – members of the Network also organise events to join up enterprising places across the UK, and to spread good practice.

This January, Furness Enterprise are inviting Northwest members of the Network to come to Barrow, to hear about the past, present and future plans for developing enterprise in the town. Furness Enterprise are driving economic development and regeneration in Barrow, with an innovative and youthful approach, and were the North West regional winners of the Enterprising Britain Award in 2008.

The event will attract some of the region’s brightest entrepreneurial minds, gathering to hear about the ways in which Furness Enterprise have been creating a culture of enterprise, the ongoing regeneration of Barrow, and to share thoughts and ideas for the town’s future.

It’s fantastic that an event like this is being hosted in Furness, and it’s just another example of how Furness Enterprise are striving to ensure the Barrow is put on the map, and stays there.
