Get involved with Fieldskills

Fieldskills are in the process of expanding their operations in the UK and are keen to hear from people who think they have something to offer and would like to get involved.

Fieldskills is a specialist expedition service’s company. With the unusual combination of an office in Furness and one in Kota Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo, their aim is to help people plan and run, safe, enjoyable and successful expeditions. They provide a combination of advice, training and logistical support.

They work with a wide range of clients including Universities, scientific and conservation organisations, TV programs, and holiday companies.

Dominic from Fieldskills explains a little more about the type of work they undertake:

To give a few examples of our recent jobs we have set up a TV shoot in the Amazonia jungle in Peru, hung camera men from trees in Borneo, set up charity challenge events for groups as large as 50 people to mountain bike and trek around Sabah and supported school groups in carrying out volunteer projects.

We aim throughout these services to support people in continuing to work in wilderness areas. We aim to enable people to continue to push safety standards to the highest level without compromising research goals, desires for life changing adventures and unique experiences. Throughout all this we aim to have a positive impact on the world we live in and on the people we meet.

They are particularly keen to hear from those with training skills in the outdoors and overseas travel or fieldwork experience. If you are interested or would just like to hear more about what they do visit www.fieldskills.com.
