Guerrilla Film-makers Workshops and Residentials
Are you 16 to 25? Fancy doing some film stuff for free?
Get onto one of these TASTER SESSIONS now, and if you want more you can then go to two RESIDENTIAL WEEKENDS
Learn the tricks and tips of guerrilla film-making by hands on use of professional and low-budget equipment. Discover how independent film-making works and develop your own production techniques to help you create films, animations, documentaries and all manner of ‘guerrilla’ media. You’ll be using Bluetooth, mobile phones, the internet, DVD and TV, and looking at digital video, animation, editing techniques, story-boarding, visual narrative and production planning. Tell your own stories and make your own media with these unique series of taster workshops and two documentary filmmaking residential weekends.
Taster session 1, at Preston FM, Mon 8th September 2008, 6pm
Taster session 2, at Lanternhouse, Ulverston, Thurs 11th September, 6pm
Taster session 3, at Cre8, Workington, Tues 16th September, 6pm
Residential 1, at Brathay Hall, Ambleside, 17th – 19th October (arrive Friday evening, leave Sunday lunchtime – food and accommodation provided)
Residential 2, at Brathay Hall, Ambleside, 14th – 16th November (arrive Friday evening, leave Sunday lunchtime – food and accommodation provided)
The taster sessions are free to anyone aged between 16 and 25, but places are limited, so book in advance by emailing enquiries@folly.co.uk or call us on 01524 388550.
There are only 10 places available in total on the residentials – sign up for the residentials after the taster session (participants need to be able to attend both residential weekends). By the end of the residential weekends the aim is that you will have taken a part in scripting, shooting and editing a new film of your own creation.
Book now: 01524 388 550 or email enquiries at folly.co.uk
With thanks to Preston FM, Lanternhouse International, and Soundwave. Brought to you by folly and Art Locates Me and funded by Awards for All.
