Imarn Hakim is speaking in Barrow

On October 17th, Imran Hakim of iTeddy and Dragon’s Den fame is coming to Barrow to talk about his experience of setting up a ground-breaking business.

Imran is the renowned young entrepreneur who has taken the world, and notably Dragon’s Den, by storm with his ‘iTeddy. He is joining us fresh from the news screens in New York so make sure you’re there.

Following the success of the “Inspirational Adventure” series of events, which saw celebrated speakers coming to Barrow to inspire and motivate, FYP are now launching a new series of events aimed at inspiring young entrepreneurs.

Imran Hakim wowed the panel of tough business bosses on the BBC2 show “Dragon’s Den” with his product, the iTeddy. His successful sales pitch secured him a £140,000 investment after experts Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis agreed a joint 20 per cent share.

An optometrist by profession, he runs a successful group of independent practices in and around his home town of Manchester. Having run his own business since he was 16, he has extensive first-hand experience of a huge range of business sectors.

Imran has won several business awards including Best Newcomer to Vision Express 2005, the North West Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2006, and Fusion Entrepreneur of the Year 2007. His work growing the iTeddy brand has earned him awards for Design, Innovation and Technology 07.
