‘Bell of the Ball’…A Diamond Service

Lynn Bell (nee Thistlethwaite) has started something completely different, for her and for Ulverston! Bells and Thistles is a brand new shop in town that sells wedding dresses, bride’s maid dresses, ball gowns and men’s suit hire.

Lynn has always been passionate about anything to do with weddings. She was inspired to start her business following her own wedding, when she really appreciated the service that she received when she bought her own dress. At this time, she saw a gap in the market and she left her job at the Leisure Centre. She joined forces with account manager sister Karen and took the plunge two months ago.

However, before making final decisions, they had the savvy to consult a wedding industry specialist. She advised them about the potential pitfalls and challenges in front of them. Smart move.

The sisters bring different skills to the business, have very different roles, and different tastes in designers. What they do share is a passion for weddings and a fresh youthful approach. Lynn’s taste is more traditional and classic, where Karen’s is a bit quirky and contemporary. The shop itself is in a good location near car parks, boasts a wonderful swirling staircase, has plenty of room and has easy wheelchair access.

So, don’t be stuck for something stunning for those New Year’s parties!
