David Johnston
David gives us a little insight into how he went on to forge a career in film after studying at Barrow Sixth Form College.
I was at BSFC from 1999–2001 and studied Media, English Literature, Computing and did an Access Course (in association with Lancaster University) in Film Studies. My Tutors were Sue de Gruyther, Pete Needham, Pam Bridgeman and Rob Nodroum. I studied Film and Literature at Essex University (after a few ups and downs in between, including a year back at BSFC).
I’ve been working at Framestore for the past 2 or so years in the Digital Intermediate department. Having worked on films such as Casino Royale, Hot Fuzz, Stardust, In Bruges, Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and TV shows Generation Kill, Primeval and No 1 Ladies Detective Agency we’ve just finished work on The Boat That Rocked and In the Loop.
I’ve also seen as much of the world as time allowed, having travelled around China and various parts of continental Europe.
